TPU is an elastic material that offers excellent wear resistance and high resilience.
TPU is highly resistant to abrasion, oils and greases, which is why it is often used in hydraulics and pneumatics. TPU has very good tensile properties.
Due to its relatively low shrinkage and excellent adhesion properties, TPU is ideally suited for FDM 3D printing. TPU can even be printed on a cold build plate without noticeable deformation. The material also adheres very well to other plastics, making it easy to use in dual 3D printing.
For this thermoplastic elastomer, too, the lower the fill, the more elastic the printed component remains. The same applies to the wall thickness. The thinner it is, the more elastic it is. TPU has a Shore hardness of 53D.
